But there’s a caveat. Place the modifier too far away from the part of the sentence that it’s intended to modify, and you end up modifying some other section of the sentence, resulting in an improper but often humorous sentence instead. While misplaced modifiers can be constructed out of many different types of phrases and clauses, perhaps the most obvious scenario where new writers will inadvertently create one is when they attempt to write the #4 sentence opener. Racism is an issue that has always troubled the United States since its beginning. From the time of slavery to the Jim Crow laws that followed the passing of the 13th Amendment; from the Civil Rights era to the Rodney King beating and subsequent riots in LA; from anger over apartheid in Africa to support of Nelson Mandela by Americans both black and white; from the shooting of Trayvon Martin to the acquittal of George Zimmerman every generation has had to confront the issue of race and racism. We understand its usage more than our older counterpart s, and we are eager to embrace these technologies and their implications in our daily activities. Moreover, we are eager to learn more and explore more of these technologies and to consider where they can take us (BBC News, 2-4). These technological innovations also come in the form of digital technology. I have a role in America’s future because further developments in digital technology will be continuously introduced in our society (van’tHooft, p. 2). This digital technology will be easier for us to utilize because, from our earliest years in the academe, this technology will be used as medium of instruction. Second messenger involved - IP3 (inositol-1,4,5-triphosphate) is the second messenger, as it relays the signal from outside the cell to the inside, resulting in the release of calcium ions that cause muscle contraction. Acetylcholine (ACh) and adrenaline (Ad) are two agonists whose actions are independent of one another and result in opposite effects. Ad brings about the relaxation of pre-contracted smooth muscle by acting via the G-protein coupled ÃŽ ²-adrenergic receptors on the cells. Mechanism of Ad induced relaxation of pre-contracted smooth muscle – Ad binds to the G-protein linked ÃŽ ²-adrenergic receptor causing a conformational change in the G-protein.
